The Gen Alpha melody, a short melodic phrase that appears in dozens (perhaps hundreds) of songs, was first identified by Danish musicologist and musician Carl Martin. It's catchy. And hey, if everyone else can write a song that includes it, why can't we? This is Sarah's alpha-gen-pop-love-song:

Evergreen (Marcotte)

Your eyes
Sparkle in the sunshine
Won’t you always be mine
Be mine

Moonbeams
Dance across you as you dream
Lying here next to me
Next to me

Some trees change with every season
But you’re my evergreen
Birds take flight for a reason
You’re the only reason I need
Take my hand and press it to your cheek
My sweet

Desert night
A pin-pricked charcoal sky
We can just take our time
Take our time

Mountain view
Every angle offers something new
This is how I feel with you
Feel with you

Joy ride, you steer, I’ll hold tight
Park play, oh, it’s such a beautiful day

Some trees change with every season
But you’re my evergreen
Birds take flight for a reason
You’re the only reason I need
Take my hand and press it to your cheek
My sweet evergreen
